Bank connections
Connect bank accounts via finAPI (Europe & UK) or Plaid (US & Canada) for automatic transaction import.
SaaSFlow imports bank transactions automatically through two open-banking providers:
| Provider | Countries |
|---|---|
| finAPI | Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom |
| Plaid | United States, Canada |
Connected accounts refresh automatically several times a day. For banks in other countries, use Manual import.
Connect an account
Add the account
Open Accounts, click Add account…, and pick Automated import.
Pick your bank
Select the country of your bank, then the bank itself. If you've connected this bank before, you can reuse the existing connection instead of entering credentials again.
Choose a start date (optional)
By default SaaSFlow imports the full available history. Set a custom start date to start all accounts at the same date — for example the beginning of the year. You can also cut history per account later.
Authorize
Click Authorize. A window from finAPI or Plaid opens where you sign in to your bank and approve access. With finAPI you then pick which accounts to connect; with Plaid you pick them inside the Plaid window.
The initial import runs right away and reports how many transactions it brought in.
Refreshing
Connected accounts refresh automatically several times a day. To refresh on demand, open the account and choose Bank connection → Refresh data….
When the connection expires
Banks periodically require re-authorization. When a connection shows Expired or Error, open Bank connection → Reconnect… and run through the bank's authorization again. Tick "Save pin/password" during the process if your bank offers it — otherwise the bank asks for manual approval on every import, and you'll need to refresh the account by hand.
Removing a connection
Bank connection → Remove connection converts the account into a manual account: the live connection is dropped, all imported transactions stay.
